The ADUM3220WARZ from Analog Devices is an isolated dual-channel gate driver rated for 4 A peak output per channel, designed to drive power MOSFETs and IGBTs in half-bridge and full-bridge topologies. Its isolation barrier supports motor drives, industrial inverters, and switched-mode power supplies where galvanic isolation between the low-voltage control side and high-voltage power stage is mandatory.
The 4 A peak drive current is the headline spec that determines how fast the gate capacitance of the external power switch charges and discharges. For a typical IGBT or MOSFET with a gate charge of 100 nC, a 4 A source delivers a rise time around 25 ns, which keeps switching losses low in hard-switched converters running at 50–100 kHz. The dual-channel configuration lets you drive the high-side and low-side switches of a half-bridge with matched propagation delays, avoiding shoot-through from timing mismatch.
Package and handling note
If your line expects tape, you will need to transfer to a compatible carrier or order a different packing option.
