Six-channel iCoupler with 150 Mbps and 5 kV isolation
The ADUM263N0BRIZ-RL is a 6-channel digital isolator from ADI's iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to transfer data across a 5000Vrms isolation barrier. It supports a 150Mbps data rate with 2.5ns typical rise/fall times, making it suitable for high-speed serial interfaces like SPI or parallel bus isolation where propagation delay of 13ns max is tolerable. The supply range of 1.7V to 5.5V on each side lets it bridge 3.3V and 5V logic domains directly without external level shifters.
What the 75 kV/µs CMTI means for motor-drive and inverter designs
Common-mode transient immunity of 75kV/µs minimum is the spec that matters when this isolator sits between a controller and a noisy power stage. In a motor-drive or solar-inverter application, fast switching edges on the high-voltage side can couple through parasitic capacitance and corrupt data. A CMTI rating this high ensures the output stays clean through those events, avoiding spurious faults on the control side.
Six channels, three per side — unidirectional flow
The six channels are split 3/3 between Side 1 and Side 2, all unidirectional. That configuration maps neatly to isolating three control signals from the controller to the driver (e.g., PWM, enable, fault-clear) and three feedback signals back (e.g., fault, current-sense trigger, temperature flag). No isolated power is provided on-chip, so each side needs its own local supply rail.
