Six-channel unidirectional isolator for high-speed industrial links
The ADUM260N1BRIZ-RL is a 6-channel digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler series, built around magnetic coupling technology. It delivers 150 Mbps data rate per channel with propagation delays of 13 ns max and pulse-width distortion under 4.5 ns, making it a fit for high-speed SPI, UART, or parallel bus isolation where timing margin matters. The 5000 Vrms isolation rating and 75 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) suit it for motor drives, inverters, and industrial fieldbus interfaces where noise transients are a given.
Supply range and logic compatibility
All six inputs are on side 1; side 2 has no inputs — a unidirectional downstream configuration. The wide supply range and unidirectional channel type simplify the BOM for isolated sensor readout or gate-drive command paths.
Package and rework considerations
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide-body (7.50 mm width) package, the ADUM260N1BRIZ-RL is a surface-mount part with a 1.27 mm pitch — straightforward for hand rework with hot air if you pre-bake the board (MSL 3). The wide-body SOIC gives good creepage distance for the 5000 Vrms rating; keep the isolation barrier clear of copper on the PCB.
The 75 kV/µs CMTI ensures data integrity in the presence of fast-switching SiC or IGBT transients common in motor drives and power converters.
