Six-channel magnetic isolator for high-speed isolation
The ADUM260N1BRIZ is a six-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to pass signals across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier at up to 150 Mbps. It is a general-purpose part — no integrated DC-DC converter — meant for applications where you need to isolate data lines without also isolating the power rail separately. The six channels all run from side 1 to side 2 (6/0 input/output mapping), which suits SPI, UART, or parallel bus isolation where the data flow is one direction.
The 5000 Vrms isolation rating is the reinforced level you see in motor drives, medical equipment, and industrial PLCs where the safety standard demands a 5 kV barrier. The 75 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) means this part can sit on a half-bridge gate-drive interface without the fast switching edges coupling false edges across the gap — important for inverter and servo-drive designs where SiC or GaN FETs switch in the nanosecond range. Propagation delay is 13 ns max (both edges), and pulse-width distortion stays under 4.5 ns, so the timing budget stays tight even at 150 Mbps.
Temperature range and package — field-fit check
No exposed pad, so the thermal path is through the leads; keep the copper pour under the part for some heatsinking.
Analog Devices lists this as an active product, so it is still a standard production part — no last-time-buy clock ticking. ROHS3 compliant, which covers the full ten restricted substances including the four phthalates. The iCoupler series has a broad portfolio, so if volumes shift or a different channel count is needed, there are siblings in the same package and pinout family.
