5000Vrms isolation with 150Mbps throughput
The ADUM242E0BRIZ is a quad-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to transfer signals across a reinforced isolation barrier rated at 5000Vrms. The 75kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity ensures reliable operation in noisy environments like motor drives and inverters where fast switching edges couple across the barrier.
Supply range and channel configuration
Each side of the isolator operates from 1.7V to 5.5V, allowing direct level translation between low-voltage logic (1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V) and 5V domains without external level shifters. The four channels are arranged as two inputs on side 1 and two inputs on side 2, all unidirectional. No external isolated power supply is required — the ADUM242E0BRIZ only needs local supply decoupling on each side.
Timing and signal integrity
Maximum propagation delay is 13ns in both directions, with pulse-width distortion held to 3ns max.
