5000 Vrms reinforced isolation in an 8-pin SOIC
The ADUM226N0BRIZ-RL is a two-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler series, built on magnetic coupling technology. Each channel handles data rates up to 150 Mbps with typical rise/fall times of 2.5 ns, and the 75 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity keeps the data path intact through fast-switching inverter edges.
75 kV/µs CMTI — the number that matters for SiC and GaN switching
The 75 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity is the spec that separates this part from older isolators. In a motor-drive or power-supply design with fast-switching SiC or GaN FETs, the voltage on the high-side rail can slew at tens of kV/µs. If the isolator's CMTI is too low, the output glitches or latches, corrupting the gate-drive signal. The ADUM226N0BRIZ-RL's 75 kV/µs rating means it survives those edges without bit errors, so you don't need a separate level shifter or a slower isolator that limits switching frequency.
