5000 Vrms isolation in a 16-SOIC — what it buys you
The ADUM2211SRIZ is a 2-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to pass signals across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier. It is a General Purpose part, meaning it handles logic-level signals without integrated power conversion — the isolated side needs its own supply rail. Two channels with a 1/1 input-side/side-2 split cover one transmit and one receive path, or two independent forward signals. The 1 Mbps data rate and 150 ns propagation delay (max) suit moderate-speed interfaces like SPI, UART, or GPIO isolation where timing margin is not single-digit nanosecond. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) keeps the output state stable when large voltage transients slam across the barrier — the spec that matters in motor drives, inverters, and industrial power stages.
Temperature range and operating environment
That 125°C ceiling means it can sit on a board near a hot motor or inside a sealed outdoor enclosure without forced airflow.
