Automotive-grade isolation for the 10 Mbps bus
The ADUM1402WTRWZ is an automotive-grade (AEC-Q100 qualified implied by the 'W' suffix) 4-channel digital isolator from Analog Devices, using iCoupler magnetic coupling technology.
10 Mbps with 32 ns propagation delay — timing budget matters
Rated for 10 Mbps data rate, the ADUM1402WTRWZ delivers a maximum propagation delay of 32 ns (both tpLH and tpHL), with pulse-width distortion held to 3 ns max. Rise and fall times are a typical 2.5 ns. These numbers define the timing margin for isolated SPI, UART, or general-purpose GPIO links — at 10 Mbps the bit period is 100 ns, so the 32 ns delay plus 3 ns distortion leaves about 65 ns for setup and hold at the receiver. The 25 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) ensures the link stays intact in motor-drive or inverter environments where fast voltage slewing on the bus can otherwise corrupt data.
For dual-sourcing flexibility, the standard-grade ADUM1402ARWZ is a pin-compatible alternative where the automotive temperature range or AEC qualification is not required — the 'W' suffix is the only difference in the ordering code.
