Product details

What this digital isolator does in the assembly

The Analog Devices ADUM1400BRWZ-RL is a general-purpose digital isolator from the iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to transfer digital signals across a 2500Vrms isolation barrier. It provides four unidirectional channels, all configured with inputs on side 1 and outputs on side 2, making it a straightforward drop-in for isolating SPI, GPIO, or other unidirectional digital lines where the data direction is fixed. The part operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply on each side, so it can bridge logic levels between a 3.3V MCU and a 5V peripheral without an extra level shifter.

At 10Mbps, the 50ns max propagation delay and 3ns max pulse-width distortion keep signal edges clean. The 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity maintains output validity through fast voltage transients.

Package and mounting

The 16-SOIC wide body package supports the 2500Vrms isolation rating.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between ADUM1400 and ADUM1401?

The ADUM1400 has all four channels configured unidirectional with inputs on side 1 (4/0 channel direction). The ADUM1401 has three channels with inputs on side 1 and one channel with input on side 2 (3/1 direction), allowing a single return signal without an extra isolator. Both share the same package, isolation rating, and data rate.
