Three-channel iCoupler isolator for industrial signal isolation
The ADUM1301BRWZ-RL is a three-channel, general-purpose digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to provide 2500Vrms galvanic isolation between two power domains. It is designed for unidirectional data transmission at rates up to 10Mbps, with a 2/1 input-to-output channel split — two channels on Side 1, one on Side 2.
Propagation delay and transient immunity — the specs that matter for timing margin
With a maximum propagation delay of 50ns in both directions and a pulse-width distortion of 3ns max, this isolator keeps skew tight enough for most 10Mbps clocked interfaces. The 25kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) is the figure to watch in motor-drive or inverter applications where fast-switching IGBTs or SiC FETs couple kilovolt-per-microsecond edges across the isolation barrier — a lower CMTI part would risk data corruption. Rise and fall times are symmetrical at 2.5ns typical, which helps maintain signal integrity over short PCB traces.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
Package and temperature range for industrial environments
Housed in a 16-pin SOIC with 7.50mm body width (0.295" pitch), the package provides adequate creepage for 2500Vrms reinforced isolation in many industrial and medical applications. Surface-mount assembly is standard; the wide-body SOIC footprint is shared with other iCoupler parts, easing board reuse.
