100Mbps isolation for motor drives and industrial comms
The Analog Devices ADUM1285CRZ is a 2-channel unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family, built on magnetic coupling technology. It pushes 100Mbps per channel with 2.5ns typical rise/fall times and 24ns max propagation delay, making it a fit for isolating SPI buses, CAN FD, or high-speed UART links where you need to keep the data rate up. The 3000Vrms isolation rating and 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity handle the noisy environments found in motor drives, inverters, and industrial fieldbus interfaces.
Channel direction and supply flexibility
Both channels run from Side 1 to Side 2 (2/0 input/output split), so this part handles downstream isolation — controller to peripheral — in a single package. The 3V to 5.5V supply range on each side lets you level-shift between a 3.3V MCU domain and a 5V sensor or actuator interface without extra translation logic. Pulse width distortion stays under 2ns max, which keeps the duty cycle intact for PWM or encoder signals crossing the barrier.
Package and temperature fit
Housed in the 8-SOIC narrow-body footprint (3.90mm width), surface-mount only. No isolated DC-DC converter on-chip — you supply the isolated power rail separately, which is typical for this channel count and data rate tier.
