What the 3 V shunt reference brings to a precision rail
The ADR5043AKSZ-REEL7 is a 3 V fixed-output shunt reference from the ADR504 series, trimmed to ±0.2% initial tolerance and 100 ppm/°C temperature coefficient. A shunt reference behaves like a precision Zener — it regulates by sinking current through a series resistor, so the load sees a stable 3 V as long as the cathode current stays between 60 µA (minimum) and 15 mA (maximum).

The three-pin layout (cathode, anode, no-connect) matches the standard shunt reference pinout; the anode connects to ground, the cathode to the load through the series resistor. The SC-70-3 has no exposed pad, so thermal performance depends on the copper area on the anode trace — keep the trace short and wide to minimise parasitic inductance.
