Device identity and optical front-end
The ADPD188BI-ACEZR7 is an ambient light sensor from Analog Devices, part of the ADPD188 family, packaged in a 24LGA surface-mount format. It detects light at 470 nm and 850 nm wavelengths — the blue channel aligns with photopic response and the IR channel allows ambient rejection in mixed-lighting environments.
Digital interface and supply rail
Output is available over I²C or SPI, giving the system architect flexibility to multiplex the sensor on a shared bus or run a dedicated serial line for low-latency reads.
