Buck-boost topology for battery and USB rails
The ADP2503ACPZ-R7: This is a step-up/step-down (buck-boost) regulator with a single adjustable output, 600 mA continuous current capability, and a 2.5 MHz switching frequency. The input range spans 2.3 V to 5.5 V, covering a single-cell Li-ion battery (3.0–4.2 V) through a 5 V USB supply — the output can be set above, below, or equal to the input, which is the key advantage over a simple buck or boost converter. Output voltage is adjustable from a 2.8 V minimum up to 5.5 V maximum.
Temperature grade and package for tight boards
The 10-LFCSP-WD (3x3 mm) package with exposed pad keeps the footprint small — about the size of a 0805 resistor — while the pad conducts heat to the PCB copper pour. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options, so a prototype build can order cut lengths while production lines use the full reel. The ROHS3 compliance covers current EU and China RoHS exemptions.
Fixed-output siblings share the same footprint
The ADP2503 family includes fixed-output versions — ADP2503ACPZ-3.3-R7 (3.3 V), ADP2503ACPZ-4.5-R7 (4.5 V), and ADP2503ACPZ-5.0-R7 (5.0 V) — all in the same 10-LFCSP package and pinout. If a BOM calls for a fixed rail, one of these drops in without changing the PCB layout or inductor selection. The adjustable version (ADP2503ACPZ-R7) covers any voltage between 2.8 V and 5.5 V with two external resistors.
