TEC control loop in a 4x4 mm LFCSP
The ADN8834WACPZ-R7 is a 1.5 A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) driver from Analog Devices, designed to regulate the temperature of a laser diode, photodetector, or optical module by driving current through a Peltier element. The IC itself draws 3.3 mA supply current — this is the controller overhead, not the TEC load. The 1.5 A output drives small- to medium-format TECs typical in fiber-optic modules, medical laser assemblies, and industrial gas sensors.
Package thermal path and board integration
Housed in a 24-lead WFQFN with exposed pad (24-LFCSP, 4x4 mm body). The -R7 suffix indicates Tape & Reel packaging (7-inch reel, 1500 units per reel). Cut Tape (CT) is also listed for prototype or low-volume builds.
This covers the full industrial ambient range (-40 to +85°C) with margin, and reaches into under-hood automotive environments where the TEC controls a lidar or infrared sensor module.
