Sensor type, accuracy, and temperature range
The ADM1032AR-REEL: This is a digital local/remote temperature sensor that monitors its own die temperature (0°C to 100°C) and an external diode-connected transistor (0°C to 120°C) over the SMBus. The ±3°C accuracy specification covers the full 0°C to 100°C test condition — that is the window where the sensor is trimmed and the datasheet guarantees the error band. The 7-bit resolution means the temperature reading is quantised in steps of roughly 1°C, which is typical for a system-monitoring sensor that flags overtemperature or controls a fan, not for a precision thermometry application.
Supply voltage, output, and features
Operating from a 3V to 5.5V supply, the sensor communicates over the SMBus — a two-wire interface derived from I²C with a defined timeout and protocol. The Output Switch, Programmable Limit, and Standby Mode features let the part assert an alert pin when the temperature exceeds a user-set threshold and drop into a low-power state between measurements.
The supplier device package is also 8-SOIC, so no footprint variation between the two identifiers. The mounting type is surface mount — reflow soldering profile per JEDEC J-STD-020 applies.
RoHS compliance note
If your BOM requires RoHS exemption or a lead-free finish, the ADM1032ARZ-1 (also an 8-SOIC variant) is the RoHS-compliant counterpart in the same family — verify the full order code against your supply chain requirements.
