SPDT switch with 600 mOhm on-resistance
The ADG819BRMZ is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch from Analog Devices, configured as a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer. Its 600 mOhm maximum on-resistance keeps insertion loss low in signal paths where the switch is in series with the load. Operating from a single supply of 1.8 V to 5.5 V and rated across the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, it fits mixed-voltage designs from battery-powered portables to industrial control boards.
Switching speed and charge injection
Maximum turn-on time is 45 ns, turn-off 16 ns, making it usable for audio line switching, sensor multiplexing, and low-frequency analog muxing where settling time matters. The 20 pC charge injection is moderate — in a high-impedance sample-and-hold front end, that injected charge can shift the held voltage by a few millivolts, so it is worth budgeting in the error budget. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is 60 mOhm max, and off-leakage is 250 pA max at 25°C. For precision analog muxing where the source impedance varies, the matching figure keeps the gain error consistent across channels.
Bandwidth and crosstalk for RF paths
The -3 dB bandwidth is 17 MHz, so the switch passes signals up through the low-MHz range with flat response. Crosstalk is -72 dB at 100 kHz — adequate for isolating two audio or low-frequency analog channels in a shared signal chain, but not intended for RF switching above 100 MHz. Channel capacitance (CS(off), CD(off)) is 80 pF typical, which limits the off-isolation at higher frequencies. For a 50-ohm system, 80 pF gives roughly -20 dB isolation at 100 MHz — fine for audio and low-speed muxing, but not for high-frequency multiplexing.
Package and supply posture
Housed in an 8-lead MSOP (3.00 mm width), the ADG819BRMZ is supplied in tubes. The surface-mount footprint is shared with the ADG819BRTZ-REEL, which is the same die in tape-and-reel packaging — the only difference is the shipping format, so a board laid out for one accepts the other without a layout change. Analog Devices lists the ADG819BRMZ as Active and ROHS3 Compliant.
