Supply voltage and output swing
Rated for a supply span from 5 V to 36 V, the AD820AR-3V-REEL works on single 5 V rails or ±18 V split supplies. The rail-to-rail output stage swings within millivolts of both rails, maximizing dynamic range at low supply voltages. Each channel can source or sink 20 mA—enough to drive a reference input, an ADC, or a modest cable.
Temperature grade and environment
No extended or automotive temperature grade here—if the design needs 125°C ambient, look at the AD8627 family instead.
Package and footprint
No exposed pad, so thermal dissipation is through the leads—fine for the 20 mA output limit.
Lifecycle and compliance
ADI lists the AD820AR-3V-REEL as Active with no last-time-buy notice. One catch: it is RoHS non-compliant (lead-bearing finish), so if your assembly line runs lead-free reflow profiles, you will need an exemption or switch to the RoHS-compliant AD820ARZ-REEL variant.
