HDMI 1.3 video switch in a 100-LQFP
The AD8197BASTZ is an HDMI 1.3-compliant video switch from Analog Devices, designed for consumer video applications such as A/V receivers, switchers, and video-wall processors. Control is handled over an I²C or serial interface, which keeps the board-level routing simple — a single two-wire bus manages the switch matrix.
No separate 1.8 V or 5 V rail is needed, which simplifies the power tree in a consumer video board. The I²C control interface is the same bus used by most HDMI transmitters and EDID EEPROMs, so the system controller can configure the switch without extra GPIOs.
Lifecycle and compliance — active, ROHS3, no LTB risk
The ROHS3 compliance covers the full substance restriction list (including the four phthalates), which clears it for EU and global markets without an exemption expiry.
