The AD7817ARUZ is a digital local temperature sensor with 10-bit resolution and SPI output. It integrates an on-chip temperature sensor and a 10-bit ADC.
Accuracy is ±2.25°C typical and ±3°C maximum at 25°C.
SPI interface and Output Switch
Communication is over a standard SPI bus — read the temperature register, write the limit register, and configure the Output Switch. The Output Switch is a programmable comparator that asserts the alert pin when the temperature crosses the programmed limit. This saves the host from continuously polling the sensor; the alert pin can trigger an interrupt or directly gate a power FET. No I²C address conflicts to manage, and the SPI clock rate is fast enough for most thermal-loop update rates (typical conversion time is in the tens of microseconds).
