24-bit sigma-delta ADC with PGA for precision sensor front-ends
The Analog Devices AD7793BRUZ is a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC designed for direct connection to bridge sensors, thermocouples, and strain gauges. Its architecture combines a multiplexer, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and a single 24-bit sigma-delta converter in a 16-TSSOP package. Three differential inputs feed the MUX-ADC chain, and the integrated PGA amplifies low-level signals before conversion — eliminating the need for an external instrumentation amplifier in most weigh-scale and pressure-transducer designs.
Sampling rate and interface — what 470 SPS means for the loop
The AD7793BRUZ samples at 470 SPS, a rate well matched to DC and low-frequency measurement applications.
Supply range and reference flexibility
Both analog and digital supplies run from 2.7 V to 5.25 V.
Temperature grade and deployment environment
Rated for -40°C to 105°C, the AD7793BRUZ covers industrial and extended-industrial environments: factory-floor transmitter modules, outdoor data-loggers, engine-bay pressure sensors, and HVAC controller analog inputs. The 16-TSSOP package keeps board area small while remaining hand-solderable for prototype builds.
