What the 28 mV/°C scale means for your ADC
The AD22103KRZ outputs an analog voltage that scales 28 mV per degree Celsius — at 25°C the output sits near 0.7 V, and at 100°C it reaches about 2.8 V. That maps cleanly onto a 3.3 V microcontroller ADC reference without needing a voltage divider or external gain stage. Accuracy is specified as ±2°C typical and ±2.5°C worst-case across the 0°C to 100°C range, tested at 25°C. For board-level thermal monitoring or ambient temperature logging, that is tight enough to detect a 5°C drift without false alarms.
Supply voltage and board integration
The 8-SOIC package (0.154-inch width, 3.90 mm body) is a standard footprint — hand-solderable and reflow-compatible. The tube packaging means it ships in a rigid anti-static tube, not a reel; for pick-and-place you would order the tape-and-reel variant AD22103KRZ-R7 instead. Operating temperature is limited to 0°C to 100°C — this is a commercial-grade sensor. It suits indoor equipment, server-room ambient monitoring, or PCB hotspot detection, but not engine-bay or outdoor enclosure use where -40°C to +125°C parts are required.
