Logic fabric and memory for edge processing
The XC7S50-1FTGB196C packs 52160 logic elements and 4075 CLB slices — enough fabric for a soft-core processor, a few DSP datapaths, and glue logic in a single chip. On-chip block RAM totals 2764800 bits (2.7 Mbit), which can buffer a full VGA frame line or hold coefficient tables for a filter chain without external SRAM. 100 user I/O on the 196-ball CSPBGA package gives the board designer enough pins to connect a parallel ADC bus, a DDR memory interface, and a few control lines without multiplexing.
Supply rails and temperature grade
Core supply runs at 0.95 V to 1.05 V — a 1.0 V rail with ±5 % regulation keeps the fabric within spec; the 196-CSBGA (15x15 mm) package uses a 0.8 mm ball pitch that routes cleanly on a 4-layer board with microvias.
