Product details

The Winbond W25Q128JVEIQ TR is a 128 Mbit (16 MB) SpiFlash® serial NOR flash memory organized as 16M x 8, delivered on tape and reel for volume SMT assembly. It is a 3.3 V part operating from 2.7 V to 3.6 V across -40°C to 85°C, and its 133 MHz clock rating places it among the faster members of the W25Q128 family.

Where this variant stands out is the memory interface. In addition to standard SPI and Dual/Quad I/O, it supports QPI (Quad Peripheral Interface) mode, where the instruction itself is clocked over all four data lines instead of being sent first over a single wire, and DTR (Double Transfer Rate), which samples data on both edges of the clock. Together these modes cut the command and address overhead of every read operation, which directly shortens firmware boot time and shrinks firmware-update windows during field OTA.

The die is housed in an 8-lead WDFN with exposed pad, supplied as an 8-WSON measuring 8 mm x 6 mm. The exposed thermal pad pulls heat into the PCB plane, which matters when the part is clocked hard through repeated read and erase/program cycles. Page programming is rated at 3 ms, keeping large-image update time bounded.

Choose this part when you need 16 MB of code-and-data storage on an eight-pin package with the fastest SPI modes in the W25Q128 family. If your board is footprint-constrained, the W25Q128JVPIQ and JVPIM variants in the smaller 6 x 5 WSON are electrically similar; if you prefer a leaded SOIC body, the JVSIQ and JVSIM variants are the drop-in choice. The TR suffix confirms reel packaging ready for pick-and-place lines.
