200 V, 1.7 A standard recovery rectifier for line-frequency bulk rectification
The Vishay SE20FD-M3/H is a standard recovery diode rated for 200 V reverse voltage and 1.7 A average forward current, housed in a DO-219AB (SMF) surface-mount package.
The 920 ns reverse recovery time (trr) classifies this as a standard recovery diode (trr > 500 ns). In a 50 Hz bridge rectifier feeding a bulk capacitor, the 920 ns recovery adds negligible switching loss — the diode spends most of its cycle in forward conduction. But in a 100 kHz PFC boost stage, that same 920 ns would dominate losses and likely overheat the junction. This part belongs on a line-frequency or low-speed rectifier BOM, not a switched-mode supply. Forward voltage is 1.1 V maximum at 2 A, which at the rated 1.7 A average gives roughly 1.9 W conduction loss — manageable in the DO-219AB footprint with adequate copper pour for heatsinking. The 5 µA reverse leakage at 200 V and 25°C rises with junction temperature, but the 175°C max junction rating provides headroom for hot environments.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant, DO-219AB footprint
The DO-219AB (SMF) package is a standard surface-mount footprint shared across Vishay's SMF diode family — land pattern data is in the datasheet.
