Product details

16 A Schottky rectifier in D²PAK — power-stage fit

The MBRB1645-E3/81: The MBRB1645-/81: The Vishay MBRB1645-/81 is a 45 V, 16 A Schottky barrier rectifier in a TO-263AB (D²PAK) surface-mount package. It is designed for low-voltage, high-frequency rectification in switch-mode power supplies, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection circuits where the Schottky's low forward voltage drop and fast recovery (≤ 500 ns) reduce switching losses.

630 mV forward drop at 16 A — conduction loss budget

At 16 A forward current, the maximum forward voltage is 630 mV. That 630 mV drop at full load produces about 10 W of conduction loss, which the D²PAK's exposed tab must sink to the PCB copper plane. The junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C allows operation in high-ambient enclosures, but the thermal pad area on the board sets the real current ceiling. Reverse leakage at 45 V is 200 µA — typical for a 45 V Schottky at 25°C junction. Leakage doubles with every 10°C rise, so at 125°C junction the leakage current can dominate the off-state power budget in a lightly loaded standby rail.

Active production — no LTB clock

It is ROHS3 compliant.
