5000Vrms isolation, 1A gate-drive output
The TLP5771(TP,E is a single-channel optical coupling gate driver from Toshiba, rated for 5000Vrms isolation between input and output — a spec that directly determines creepage and clearance spacing on the PCB for reinforced insulation in motor drives and industrial power supplies. Peak output current is 1A, sourced and sunk symmetrically (1A high, 1A low), which is enough to drive medium-power IGBTs and MOSFETs at switching frequencies up to several hundred kilohertz without an external booster stage. Common-mode transient immunity is a minimum 35kV/µs, a key parameter for high-side gate-drive circuits where the output side swings rapidly relative to the input reference — below this threshold the output can glitch and cause a shoot-through event.
Switching timing and supply range
Propagation delay is 150ns max in both directions (tpLH and tpHL), and pulse-width distortion is kept under 50ns — these numbers bound the dead-time margin you need to budget in the PWM controller firmware. Rise and fall times are 15ns and 8ns typical respectively, which means the output edge rate is fast enough to minimise switching losses in the power transistor without creating excessive ringing if the gate-loop inductance is not controlled. Output supply range is 10V to 30V; the input LED forward voltage is 1.65V typical at 8mA max forward current.
Active life cycle, multi-agency approvals
It is RoHS compliant and holds safety approvals from CQC, cUR, UR, and VDE, which streamlines the certification path for end equipment sold into China, North America, and European markets. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) from the 6-SO package option; sourced and quoted per RFQ against your BOM quantity.
