Product details

Active gate-drive optocoupler with 1 A peak output

The Toshiba TLP5702(TP,E is a single-channel gate drive optocoupler with a push-pull, totem-pole output rated for 1 A peak output current. It provides 5000Vrms isolation and a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 20 kV/µs, making it suitable for driving IGBTs and MOSFETs in motor drives, industrial power supplies, and inverter stages where noise immunity and galvanic isolation are required.

Package and mounting

The 1 A peak output is enough to drive the gate charge of a medium-power IGBT or MOSFET without an external booster stage; the 15 ns rise and 8 ns fall times (typical) keep switching losses low. Propagation delay is a maximum 200 ns in both directions, which is tight enough for most hard-switched converters up to about 100 kHz. The 20 kV/µs CMTI means the output won't glitch when the high-side floating supply slews rapidly — a common failure point in half-bridge legs.

The Tape & Reel variant (TP,E suffix) is the surface-mount reel option for automated assembly.
