5000 Vrms isolation in a 4-lead SO6L
The TLP383(GR-TPL,E is a single-channel phototransistor optocoupler rated for 5000 Vrms isolation between input and output. The 4-lead SO6L package achieves this isolation level with a creepage distance that suits reinforced insulation in industrial PSU feedback loops, motor-drive interface, and medical patient-contact isolation barriers. Input side is a DC-driven IR LED with typical forward voltage 1.25 V; the output is a phototransistor rated for 80 V collector-emitter and 50 mA continuous current per channel.
CTR bin GR: 100% to 300% at 5 mA forward
The GR CTR bin specifies a minimum 100% and maximum 300% current transfer ratio at If=5 mA. This tight binning means the designer can budget the LED drive current knowing the output transistor will saturate across the full -55°C to 125°C range without overdriving the LED. Switching speed is characterised by 2 µs rise and 3 µs fall times typical, with turn-on and turn-off both 3 µs typical — adequate for 10–100 kHz PWM isolation or slow digital signalling.
