Gate-driver optocoupler with 2.5 A peak and 3750 Vrms isolation
The Toshiba TLP352(F) is a single-channel optocoupler gate driver designed to drive IGBTs and power MOSFETs in industrial power-conversion stages. It delivers 2.5 A peak output current and is rated for 3750 Vrms isolation between input and output, with a common-mode transient immunity of 20 kV/µs minimum. The through-hole 8-DIP package suits prototyping, service-repair, and environments where board-level ruggedness matters over density.
Switching speed and propagation delay — what 200 ns means for the gate drive
Maximum propagation delay of 200 ns (both tpLH and tpHL) and typical rise/fall times of 15 ns and 8 ns place this part in the mid-speed tier for isolated gate drivers. The 50 ns max pulse-width distortion means the on and off delays are well matched, which reduces dead-time uncertainty in half-bridge and full-bridge topologies. For switching frequencies up to about 50 kHz, the timing budget is comfortable; above that, propagation delay starts eating into the minimum on-time at narrow duty cycles.
Temperature range and supply rail
The output supply range of 15 V to 30 V covers standard IGBT gate-drive rails. The forward diode is rated at 1.55 V typical with a 20 mA maximum continuous forward current.
