Quad DC-input photocoupler with 3750Vrms barrier
The TLP293-4(V4-TR,E is a Toshiba quad-channel optocoupler that takes a DC input on the LED side and delivers a transistor output on the detector side, with 3750Vrms of galvanic isolation between the two domains. The current-transfer ratio spans 50% to 600% at 5 mA forward current, so the design must accommodate the minimum CTR for guaranteed switching while the maximum sets the saturation floor.
Switching speed and output drive
Typical rise and fall times are 2 µs and 3 µs, with turn-on and turn-off times both at 3 µs — fast enough for 100 kHz-ish signal isolation but not for high-speed data links. Each output channel can sink up to 50 mA at a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 80 V, and the Vce saturation is clamped at 300 mV — useful when driving a logic gate input or a low-power relay directly.
Active production, tape-and-reel delivery
It ships on tape and reel (cut tape also available), which means it feeds directly into a pick-and-place machine without a tube-handling step. ROHS3 compliant — no exemption conflicts for EU-market assemblies.
