3750Vrms quad optocoupler for harsh environments
The Toshiba TLP293-4(LA,E is a quad-channel, DC-input, transistor-output optocoupler in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package. It provides 3750Vrms galvanic isolation between input and output, with each of the four independent channels rated for 80V output and 50mA continuous current.
CTR window and switching speed
The current transfer ratio (CTR) is specified between 50% and 600% at a forward current of 500µA. That 50% minimum guarantees the output transistor will saturate with a modest LED drive, while the 600% ceiling gives headroom for degraded LED output over temperature or lifetime. Typical rise and fall times are 2µs and 3µs respectively, and turn-on/turn-off times are both 3µs — fast enough for 100 kbps isolated data links or low-speed relay replacement.
Active lifecycle — no LTB concern
It is RoHS compliant.
Tube packaging — design-in note
This variant ships in Tube (not Tape & Reel), which is the typical procurement format for prototype or low-volume builds. If your pick-and-place line requires reeled parts, the sibling order code TLP293-4(LA-TR,E is the Tape & Reel version with identical electrical specifications. The 16-SOIC footprint (4.55mm body width) is a common optocoupler package; layout guidelines for 3750Vrms isolation clearance should follow the creepage and clearance rules in the datasheet.
