Quad-channel optocoupler with 3750Vrms isolation
The Toshiba TLP293-4(4LGBTPE is a quad-channel transistor-output optocoupler in a 16-SOIC package. It provides 3750Vrms galvanic isolation between a DC input LED and a phototransistor output, with a current transfer ratio (CTR) ranging from 100% to 600% at 500µA forward current. The output transistor can handle up to 80V and 50mA per channel, making it suitable for logic-level interfacing, PLC digital inputs, motor drive feedback, and isolated sensor readouts in industrial and telecom equipment.
The 100% minimum CTR at 500µA forward current guarantees the phototransistor will saturate with a modest LED drive, while the 600% maximum gives headroom for degraded LED output over temperature or lifetime. Typical turn-on and turn-off times of 3µs each, with 2µs rise and 3µs fall, support data rates up to about 100 kbps — fine for slow optocoupler applications like status feedback, relay drivers, and 50/60 Hz mains zero-cross detection. The 300mV maximum Vce(sat) keeps the output drop low when driving logic inputs.
Package and footprint: 16-SOIC, surface mount
Housed in a 16-SOIC package with a 4.55mm body width and a 0.179" height, this is a standard gull-wing footprint that suits automated assembly. The supplier device package is 16-SO. Surface-mount only — no through-hole option in this variant.
