3750Vrms quad-channel transistor optocoupler
Toshiba TLP292-4(LGBTR,E is a four-channel transistor-output optocoupler with AC/DC input capability, packaged in a 16-pin SOIC (0.179" body width). The 3750Vrms isolation rating meets basic safety isolation for industrial control interfaces, PLC digital inputs, and motor-drive feedback paths. Each channel can sink up to 50 mA at 80 V output, with typical rise/fall times of 2 µs and 3 µs respectively — fast enough for 100 kHz switching signals or 24 V logic-level communication.
CTR range 100% to 600% at 500 µA forward current
The current transfer ratio spans 100% minimum to 600% maximum, measured at If=500 µA. That wide spread means the LED drive current can be as low as 1.6 mA to guarantee a saturated output at 25°C (assuming CTR=100% at Vce=5V), but the upper end gives headroom for degraded LED output over temperature and lifetime. The Vce saturation voltage is 300 mV max, so the output pulls close to ground when on. AC input compatibility means the LED pair is back-to-back: the optocoupler conducts on both half-cycles of an AC waveform, eliminating the need for an external bridge rectifier when sensing line voltage or AC presence.
Active production, full military temp range
Toshiba lists the TLP292-4(LGBTR,E as Active and RoHS compliant. The SO-16 package is compatible with standard reflow profiles (MSL level not stated in evidence, but typical for Toshiba SOICs is MSL1). Sourced per RFQ — no stock-holding claim. The part is available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options for prototype or production quantities. Confirm BOM quantity and preferred packaging when requesting a quote.
Peer variants: tape-and-reel suffix differences
The TLP292-4 family includes several reel suffixes (LA-TP, V4LATPE, V4-TP) with identical electrical ratings — same 3750Vrms isolation, same CTR range, same 300mV Vce sat, same 2µs/3µs rise/fall times. The (LGBTR,E suffix is the standard 13-inch reel option; the (LA-TP,E and (V4-TP,E are alternative reel formats. All are active and functionally interchangeable on the PCB.
