20 MBd logic-output optocoupler – active production
The TLP2766A(TP,E is a single-channel, high-speed optocoupler from Toshiba with a push-pull totem-pole output, rated for 20 MBd data rate and 5000 Vrms isolation. It operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic domains without a level shifter.
Propagation delay and transient immunity
Maximum propagation delay is 55 ns for both tpLH and tpHL, with typical rise/fall times of 5 ns and 4 ns. This timing budget suits high-speed digital isolation in industrial fieldbus interfaces or gate-drive feedback paths. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 20 kV/µs minimum, which keeps the output state stable during fast voltage swings across the isolation barrier — a key parameter for motor-drive or inverter applications where switching noise couples into the signal path.
Package and supply range
Housed in a 6-SOIC package with 7.50 mm body width, the TLP2766A(TP,E provides 8 mm creepage and clearance for reinforced insulation. The surface-mount footprint is shared with other Toshiba 6-SOIC optocouplers, easing board layout reuse. Supply voltage spans 2.7V to 5.5V, covering 3.3V and 5V rails. The DC input accepts a forward voltage up to 1.8V max with a 25 mA max forward current. Output drive is 10 mA per channel — enough to drive a CMOS or TTL gate input directly.
Temperature grade and sourcing posture
The wide temperature range and 5000 Vrms isolation make it a candidate for under-hood or outdoor telecom equipment.
