5000Vrms reinforced isolation in a push-pull SO6L
The Toshiba TLP2748(TP,E is a single-channel, push-pull output optocoupler rated for 5000Vrms isolation — the reinforced level required for galvanic barrier separation in industrial motor drives, PLC digital inputs, and medical patient-contact interfaces. Its DC input stage accepts a forward voltage of 1.55V typical at up to 15mA forward current, and the totem-pole output delivers 50mA per channel with 3ns typical rise and fall times. The 30kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity keeps the output from false-toggling when fast voltage transients couple across the isolation barrier, a critical parameter in inverter-fed motor drives and switch-mode power supply feedback loops.
120ns propagation delay — timing budget for the isolation path
The 120ns max propagation delay (tpLH / tpHL) sets the upper bound on loop response in a gate-drive or fault-latch application.
6-SOIC footprint with 7.50mm body width — creepage and clearance
The 6-SOIC package with 0.295" (7.50mm) body width provides the creepage distance needed to sustain the 5000Vrms isolation rating across the PCB. The wide-body SOIC is the standard choice for reinforced isolation layouts; the 6-pin count keeps the board area tight. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profiles applies — no special handling beyond the usual MSL precautions for an optocoupler.
