3750Vrms isolation, 150% CTR floor — TLP183(Y,E transistor optocoupler
The TLP183(Y,E from Toshiba is a single-channel transistor-output optocoupler in a 6-SOP package. It delivers 3750Vrms isolation between the DC input LED and the phototransistor output — enough for functional isolation in industrial controls, appliance power supplies, and PLC digital input modules. Minimum current transfer ratio is 150% at a forward current of 5 mA.
Temperature range and switching speed for industrial bus isolation
Full industrial temperature range: -55°C to 125°C, so it handles the thermal extremes of motor drive cabinets, outdoor telecom enclosures, and engine-bay electronics without derating the isolation or CTR. Typical rise/fall times of 2 µs and 3 µs, and turn-on/turn-off times of 3 µs each — suitable for slow digital I/O and status feedback from sensors.
