Dual pre-biased transistor for automotive switching
The RN4990FE,LXHF(CT is an automotive-grade dual transistor from the AEC-Q101 series, combining one NPN and one PNP pre-biased device in a single SOT-563 package. Each transistor integrates a 4.7kΩ base resistor, so you can drive the base directly from a 3.3V or 5V logic output without an external resistor — handy for cleaning up a BOM on a relay driver, solenoid pre-drive, or general-purpose load switch. The 50V collector-emitter breakdown gives comfortable headroom on a 12V or 24V automotive rail, and the 100mA continuous collector current covers most signal-level switching.
AEC-Q101 qualification means this part has passed the automotive stress tests: temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and humidity bias. It is rated for the under-hood and cabin environments where a standard commercial transistor would drift or fail.
Package and footprint for the layout
Housed in a SOT-563 (ES6) package, the RN4990FE,LXHF(CT is a small surface-mount part — about 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm. It is hand-solderable with a fine-tip iron and some flux, though a hot-air station is easier. The datasheet footprint is a standard SOT-563 land pattern; no special thermal pad needed at 100mW max power.
