Built-in bias resistors shrink the BOM
The RN2109,LF(CT: The RN2109 is a PNP pre-biased transistor that integrates a 47 kΩ base resistor (R1) and a 22 kΩ emitter-base resistor (R2) inside the same SC-75 / SOT-416 package. That means you drop two external resistors from the board — handy when you're squeezing a switch or a driver into a tight layout. The 100 mA collector current rating and 50 V breakdown cover typical low-side switching in portable gear, sensor interfaces, or logic-level level shifters where you need to pull a line low.
SC-75 rework — small but doable
The SC-75 (SOT-416) is a three-lead package. The leads are visible and the pad pitch is generous compared to a QFN.
Active and RoHS3 compliant
Toshiba lists the RN2109 as an active product with ROHS3 compliance. The LF suffix in the order code confirms lead-free / RoHS3 finish — no separate qualification paperwork needed for EU or similar markets.
