2.5 V fixed LDO in a 1 mm² footprint
The Texas Instruments LP3990TLX-2.5/NOPB is a single-output, positive-voltage LDO regulator that delivers a fixed 2.5 V output at up to 150 mA. It is built for space-constrained, battery-powered or low-noise analog rails where every millivolt of headroom counts. The part comes in a 4-DSBGA package measuring 1x1 mm, which suits compact wireless modules, portable medical devices, and sensor nodes. Enable control and protection against over-temperature and short circuit are included on-chip.
Dropout and quiescent current — the battery-design numbers
At the full 150 mA load the maximum dropout voltage is 0.2 V. The quiescent current is 80 µA typical, rising to 120 µA maximum under all conditions.
PSRR across the audio band
Power-supply rejection ratio is specified as 55 dB at 1 kHz and 35 dB at 10 kHz.
Temperature range and package handling
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, which covers industrial and outdoor telecom enclosures. The 4-DSBGA package has no leads; it is a wafer-level chip-scale package with solder bumps on the bottom. Rework requires a hot-air station with a fine nozzle and careful alignment — the 1x1 mm body leaves little room for error. For prototyping, the Cut Tape option lets you order a few pieces without committing to a full reel.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The LP3990TLX-2.5/NOPB carries an Active product status. The ROHS3 compliance mark means it meets the latest EU restriction levels. For BOM planning, this part is a safe choice for new designs — no near-term obsolescence risk.
