TVS diode for 36.8V rails
The 1.5SMC43CA V7G: With a 36.8V reverse standoff voltage, it sits on a 36V or 48V DC bus and clamps transients at 59.3V maximum — keeping the downstream silicon inside its abs-max rating.
The 40.9V minimum breakdown voltage means the diode starts conducting at just above the normal rail voltage, so it does not leak under steady-state 36V operation. Bidirectional configuration (single channel) means a single part clamps both positive and negative transients — useful on AC-coupled or floating signal lines where polarity is not fixed.
The large tab area on the bottom conducts heat to the PCB copper — for sustained repetitive surges, a thermal via array under the package improves the junction-to-board thermal resistance.
