Clamping performance and selection fit
The 1.5SMC39A R7G: The 33.3V reverse standoff voltage defines the maximum continuous DC or peak AC voltage the protected line can carry without the diode conducting leakage current. The 53.9V clamping voltage is the peak voltage the load sees during a transient — a 12V or 24V rail with a 33.3V standoff TVS keeps the clamp below the downstream IC's absolute maximum rating. With a 1500W peak pulse capability at 10/1000 µs, this part handles moderate-energy transients like inductive load dumps or lightning-induced surges on signal and power lines.
The Tape & Reel packaging (TR) suits automated pick-and-place assembly. No power line protection — this is a unidirectional device for DC rail clamping, not AC mains. The single-channel unidirectional configuration means it protects one polarity; for bidirectional protection on AC or bipolar rails, a series pair or a bidirectional variant is needed.
