Automotive-grade transient suppression for 24V rails
The 1.5SMC36AHR7G: AEC-Q101 qualification means this part has passed the automotive-grade stress tests: high-temperature reverse bias, temperature cycling, and ESD robustness.
Clamping voltage and breakdown tolerance
With a 30.8V reverse standoff voltage, the diode stays off below that rail level. Breakdown starts at a minimum of 34.2V, and the clamping voltage max is 49.9V at the full 31A peak pulse current. That 5V window between standoff and breakdown gives the designer room for rail tolerance without leakage. The single unidirectional channel protects one rail; for bidirectional or AC-coupled lines you would need two parts back-to-back or a different series variant.
