Clamping voltage and breakdown margin
The 1.5SMC27CA M6G: Reverse standoff voltage is 23.1V typ, with a minimum breakdown of 25.7V. The 37.5V clamp at 42A gives a 1.5× margin over the standoff — enough headroom for a 24V bus with 10% tolerance before the TVS starts conducting leakage. Single bidirectional channel means one device replaces two unidirectional TVS in anti-series — saves board space and halves the component count on a bipolar rail.

The SMC body handles the 1500W pulse without cracking the epoxy at cold start.
