AEC-Q101 qualification and the under-hood temperature profile
The 1.5SMC24H carries AEC-Q101 qualification, the automotive discrete semiconductor stress-test standard covering temperature cycling, ESD, and reliability screening.
1500W peak pulse — what the rating means for the BOM
The 1500W peak pulse power (1.5kW) is rated for a 10/1000µs exponential waveform — the standard telecom surge shape per IEC 61000-4-5. For a 24V nominal supply, the 34.7V clamp voltage keeps downstream DC-DC converters and ASICs inside their 40V abs-max rating with margin. The DO-214AB (SMC) package dissipates the pulse through the PCB copper pad; the thermal impedance is set by the pad area, not the package itself. No power line protection — the diode is designed for signal or low-power rail clamping, not for AC mains or high-energy direct lightning injection.
