1500 W bidirectional clamp for 24 V rails
The 1.5SMC24CA V7G: Derate linearly above that per the datasheet curve; at 85 °C the effective power handling drops to roughly 75 % of the 1500 W headline figure.
Voltage ratings and the protection window
Reverse standoff voltage is 20.5 V — the rail voltage the TVS leaves alone during normal operation. Breakdown occurs at 22.8 V minimum, and clamping is guaranteed at 33.2 V maximum with 47 A flowing. The gap between standoff and clamp defines the protection margin: a 24 V bus with 5 % tolerance rides at 25.2 V worst-case, still below the 22.8 V breakdown threshold, so the diode stays off until a transient pushes it over. Single bidirectional channel means one device protects a differential pair or a signal line referenced to ground — no need to series two unidirectional parts.
