The 1.5SMC24A V7G is a Zener-type transient voltage suppressor from Taiwan Semiconductor's 1.5SMC series, rated for 1500 W peak pulse power dissipation (10/1000 µs waveform). It clamps transients on a 20.5 V nominal rail — the reverse standoff voltage — and breaks down at 22.8 V minimum, holding the clamp at 33.2 V max while conducting 47 A peak pulse current. The 33.2 V clamping ceiling means downstream ICs on a 24 V telecom bus see the surge limited below their abs-max rating, provided the trace inductance between the TVS and the protected device is kept short — a few nH of stray inductance adds a voltage spike on top of the clamp that eats into the margin.
