The 1500W rating means this part absorbs a 1.5 kW surge for the standard 1 ms pulse duration — enough for a 24V nominal bus or a 12V system with load-dump margins. The clamping voltage of 25.5V is the ceiling the downstream circuitry must survive.

DO-214AB package and temperature range

Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, the 1.5SMC18A R7G fits a standard power TVS footprint with a large copper pad area under the cathode tab for thermal management.
