1.5SMC10CA M6G — 1500W bidirectional TVS in DO-214AB
The DO-214AB (SMC) package is a standard surface-mount footprint for medium-power TVS diodes. The 108A peak pulse current rating at the 10/1000µs test pulse gives a direct read on how much surge energy the diode can shunt before the junction overheats.
Clamping voltage and standoff margin
The 9.5V minimum breakdown voltage (Vbr) is the point where the diode starts to avalanche. Between Vrwm (8.55V) and Vbr (9.5V) the diode is in a high-impedance state; above Vbr it conducts hard to hold the line at Vc.
The 1500W peak pulse rating is specified at 25°C; derate the power linearly above that per the datasheet curve.
Bidirectional single-channel protection
The DO-214AB package footprint is shared across the 1.5SMC series, so a board layout can accommodate different voltage ratings by changing only the BOM line. The Power Line Protection field is marked No — this TVS is designed for signal and low-power DC rail protection, not for direct AC mains or high-energy power-line clamping where the surge duration exceeds the 10/1000µs test waveform.
