The axial body and 0.96 mm lead diameter are standard for this power class — the leads carry the surge current into the die without fusing open on a single 1500W pulse. On a repair bench, a shorted TVS in this package shows a characteristic blister on the body — the scorch mark tells you which part actually died. Replacement is a straightforward desolder-and-reseat job; the axial leads tolerate a few rework cycles before the solder joint at the PCB hole fatigues.
